Welcome to the Blair County Pickleball Club (BCPC)

We are a club of pickleball enthusiasts in and around Altoona, PA.

The Blair County Pickleball Club is committed to promoting the fun, fellowship and health benefits of playing pickleball, the fastest growing sport in America!

Free beginner lesson on May 7 @ 1pm by Bob Dupont. RSVP by calling the H-burg YMCA. Beginner and Intermediate lessons (fees apply) are now being offered by Donna and Kim Reese (Contact Gorilla House). Advanced lessons are offered by Dave Satka and Bobby Morris (Email the Club)(Fees vary).

April Club News

The board is seeking members to volunteer to become the chairperson or a member of the social committee. It there is a specific event you would like to organized, please consider becoming a member. If anyone is interested or has a question please email the club.
It has become necessary to remind all members there is a club code of conduct that will be enforced.
Garfield Players: Please be sure to spin the lock numbers and pull on the lock if you are last to leave the courts. Members have reported arriving to unlocked courts. Kids were found riding bikes on the court. We also ask for players to hang all brooms and rollers on the fence. This allows for easy access to loose balls, safety and proper drying of the equipment.
Regarding Gorilla House: Note that BCPC no longer has any control over play times. Requests for scheduling changes should be made directly to GH. All are reminded to please welcome any paying customer into open play at GH. The same is true at Garfield as we are under contract to welcome and provide opportunities for public use of the courts.
Garfield Park Update: During construction, no port-a-potty will be rented but the concession stand restroom will be made available. Benches will be temporarily removed so seating is BYO. Beware of on going construction. Lights post standards are already in place!
Two new court cameras will be installed at Garfield Park by mid-May at no cost to the club! See who is playing and court conditions with one click (See below). The old camera is now operational.
The second annual BCPC Night at the Curve Game will be on June 18. Save the date. Details coming soon.
The courts are not ready at Geeseytown but they did pave the parking lot. Court surface cracks have appeared and will delay the grand opening.
April is National Pickleball Month. Let's Go!

June 5-8, 2025 Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship

This will be our 5th Anniversary of hosting this event. Last year we had over 600 people sign up, a new record. This will be a 4-day event again based on a round robin format that we implemented last year. Like last year we will be on 30 courts all with divided fences between courts and all with cabled nets (no soft nets). This year we will also have a money ball format and will have the 2025 Hall of Fame banner to highlight your success for future year. Sign up will start in Feb 2025 on Pickleballbrackets.com .
